I’m taking on the Week of Love Valentine’s Nail Art Challenge. It’s all this week, so five days, culminating on Friday, which is Valentine’s Day.
In the US, candy hearts seem to be actually heart shaped. In the UK we have Love Hearts, which are round and then have a raised heart shape and raised wording, which are both printed in pinky red. I couldn’t recreate these exactly, so I did a bit of a take on them.
I painted a base of Sally Hansen Presto Pink, then stamped that with Konad White using the hearts from Cheeky plate CH15.
That seemed too bright and white to then stamp over, so I made it into a stampwich by adding two coats of L’Oréal Opera Ballerina, a pale and sheer pink.
Then I stamped some Love Heart sayings over the top. I used the pinky red colour, UR FAB, from the MUA Love Hearts polish collection. The collection came out about two years ago and was made in collaboration with Love Hearts themselves. U R FAB is a mulberry shade and just perfect for the Love Hearts sweets.
I used the wording from Bundle Monster plate BM-425. It didn’t stamp too well at all – but then the Love Hearts wording looks exactly the same … so I’ll pretend I did it on purpose
